Born in Rome in 1955, Enrico Romagna Manoja received a degree in political science from the La Sapienza University in Rome in 1984 with a thesis on economic policy during the septennate of
Valéry Giscard d'Estaing.
He received journalism training in foreign news at the daily economic paper “Il Globo” from 1975 to1977. In1977 he went to work at ANSA, where in 1997 he became head of the economic editorial staff. In 2000 he was appointed head of the economic editorial staff for La Repubblica.
From 2003 to 2006 he was the editor of the daily paper MF and the weekly paper Milano Finanza.
