Pierluigi Vigna
Previous National Antimafia Prosecutor
Since 1965 Vigna has worked as a public prosecutor: first as a deputy prosecutor, then as adjunct prosecutor and then in 1991 he became chief prosecutor with antimafia district prosecutor functions for the Public Prosecutor’s Office in Florence. From 1997 to 2005 he was National Antimafia Prosecutor, a responsibility which he left in 2005 due to age limit rules. He has directed numerous investigations on terrorism of the extreme right and left, drug traffic, kidnapping and massacres. In 2005 he received the honorary title of Ordine al Merito of the Italian Republic.
