Full Professor of Sociology at the University of Palermo, he is also president of the coordination committee of degree programs in Communication Science at the same university.
He is the director of the “Mario Francese” Journalism School and director of the Centro Interdipartimentale per la Sperimentazione di Comunicazioni Mediate.
He has been national coordinator of the Sociology of Law section of the Italian Association of Sociology and in 2004 he was appointed scientific director and coordinator of a EU project for the comparison of the use of impact assessments in the European Union.
