Full Professor of International Economics at Bocconi since 1983 and director of the Bocconi PhD in International Law and Economics, since 2005 Onida has been an advisor to the CNEL as an expert appointed by the Italian President.
He is also president of the Unicredit Research Board and a board member of Unicredit Global Leasing. He has been president of ICE (Istituto Commercio Estero) and was a member of the executive committee of Cariplo Banca up until 2001.
He has participated in numerous commissions and task forces for national and international institutions, such as the OECD, EU Commission, UNCTAD, ISTAT and Foreign Affairs Ministries, Foreign Commerce, Universities and Research Centers.
